The AlienBees ABR800 Ringflash is a very powerful lighting accessory often used for portrait and fashion photography. The adjustable, circular flash eliminates stark shadows and can create unique catchlights in the eyes of subjects during portrait work.

The ABR800 is lightweight at about 2.5 pounds and offers many setup options. The flash can be used on-camera (so that pictures are taken through the ring) or the flash can be fired separately. It can also mount on a light stand or a tripod, with or without the camera attached. If preferred, the flash is hand-holdable. Just use the mounting post as a handle or hold the mounting bracket in the palm of your hand.

A slide fader on the back adjusts the flash output from full power to 1/32nd of the total power and marks whole f-stop increments for easy reference. The flash also features eight modeling lamps that help indicate the effect the flash will have on the picture before you ever snap the shot. These lamps can be set to full brightness, turned completely off, or set to track power changes by dimming while the flash is recycling.
